Our Story
Sowing CEADs of Excellence
Established in 2014, the Center for Education and Academic Development (CEAD), a 501(c)3 based in Los Angeles, is dedicated to uplifting at-risk, low-income, underserved, and disadvantaged students of color, particularly African American and Latino youth, ages 6 to 24. Our mission is to provide educational programming, mentoring, and life skills through cultural experiences that prepare students for future success. Inspired by the belief that "Success occurs when opportunity meets preparation" (Zig Ziglar), CEAD empowers youth with the tools, resources, and opportunities to excel academically, personally, and professionally. Through our Elite Scholars Success Program, we focus on academic growth, college preparation, career development, and social-emotional sustainability—fostering the next generation of leaders.

Our Board Of Directors
CEAD’s Board of Directors is a dedicated group of leaders guiding our mission to develop and empower underserved youth. With expertise in education, community service and outreach, and student success, they ensure CEAD delivers impactful programs that foster holistic success, personal growth, and leadership development for African American and Latino students in all neighboring communities of Southern California.
